1.1 Background of the Study
Animated films are among the most consumed media content for children worldwide, captivating young audiences with colorful visuals, engaging stories, and memorable characters. Beyond entertainment, animated films have significant potential to influence children’s behavior, values, and social interactions. In Fika Local Government Area, Yobe State, where access to educational resources is sometimes limited, animated films serve as a medium for informal learning and behavioral modeling (Abdullahi & Ibrahim, 2023). Research has shown that animated films can shape attitudes, enhance cognitive skills, and instill moral values in children (Usman, 2024). These films, therefore, play a dual role in entertaining and educating young minds, particularly in regions with limited access to formal educational tools (Ahmed & Bello, 2024).
1.2 Statement of the Problem
While animated films are widely available and consumed by children in Fika, their influence on behavior, both positive and negative, remains insufficiently explored. Concerns have been raised about the alignment of film content with cultural values and its potential impact on social behavior and learning outcomes. This study seeks to investigate the behavioral influences of animated films on children in Fika (Mohammed, 2023).
